We are pleased to announce that our Design Director, Wilhelmina McCarroll, has won the SIT Furniture Design Award in the Living Room Furniture category for our Adorn Marigold Cocktail Cabinet.
This international recognition highlights the timeless value of strong design, even as trends and preferences change. Wilhelmina is dedicated to creating furniture that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.
At Zuster, we believe furniture should be both practical and decorative, serving us throughout our lives. The award-winning Adorn Marigold Cocktail Cabinet exemplifies this philosophy.
It features internal glass and wine storage, a pull-out lined cutlery drawer, and LED strip lighting to illuminate the internal shelving. The bronze mirror backing adds a touch of sophistication, reflecting the beauty of your barware. Inspired by couture fashion, the Marigold handle showcases intricate details reminiscent of pleats and ribbing. Designed by Wilhelmina McCarroll, this piece seamlessly blends style and functionality. The Adorn Marigold Cocktail Cabinet is the perfect addition to any home bar or entertaining space, elevating your entertaining experience with its elegant design.
"With Adorn, I drew inspiration from my love of fashion and jewellery. I aimed to combine elements from fashion, such as ruffled fabric details and delicate brooches, into furniture design. The result is pieces that serve their functional purpose while adding a touch of elegance reminiscent of jewellery’s allure," says Wilhelmina McCarroll, Design Director.
The SIT Furniture Design Award evaluation process includes various criteria that are regularly updated to reflect new technical, social, economic, spatial, and ecological considerations. The judging criteria encompass innovation (introducing new or improved solutions), aesthetics (form, shape, colour, texture, finishing, and materials), functionality (ease of use, safety, and maintenance), ergonomics (user interaction), durability (quality and longevity), impact (benefit to users and society), utility (meeting intended purpose and needs), ecological compatibility (environmental impact), reality of production (technical and economic feasibility for large-scale production), and emotional quotient (providing enjoyment and satisfaction beyond practical use).
We are incredibly proud of Wilhelmina McCarroll's achievement and grateful for the recognition from the SIT Furniture Design Award. This honour not only celebrates her exceptional talent and dedication but also underscores our commitment at Zuster to delivering timeless and innovative designs.
We invite you to explore the Adorn Marigold Cocktail Cabinet and experience firsthand the functionality it offers. This piece, along with the rest of our collection, is a testament to our belief that furniture should enhance the beauty and utility of our everyday spaces.
