Round Timber Grommet: ADD002
How is the Round Timber Grommet made?
The Round Timber Grommet is designed and handcrafted in solid American Oak at Zuster's Design and Manufacturing HQ in Thomastown, Victoria.
-Timber is selected, and Zuster's Head CNC Operator performs precision cuts to create the grommet to its exact dimensions every time
-The grommet is passed to the Cabinet Maker leading assembly of the client's piece, who sands it down to a smooth, splinter-free finish
-The Cabinet Maker cuts a 60mm hole into the top of the client's piece to create the cable pass-through
-The grommet is fit-tested to ensure a snug fit, with its lip sitting flush against the surface, then re-sanded in preparation for finishing
-Zuster's Colour and Finish Specialist applies the finish to the client's entire piece, together with the grommet, for a seamless, matching look

Customisation Options
Every Round Timber Grommet is finished to match the piece it sits within, in any Zuster timber finish.
Ideal Use Case
Best suited to desks and console tables where cable volume is light and a single, discreet pass-through is all you need. For multiple cables or a side-exit run, the Oval Timber Grommet is the better fit.
FAQ
How many cables can the Round Timber Grommet hold? Comfortably three to four standard cables, such as power and a monitor cable.
Can it be matched to my existing furniture finish? Yes. It's available in every Zuster timber finish, so it sits seamlessly within the piece it's fitted to.
Is it handmade or machined? Both. The grommet is precision cut by our Head CNC Operator for a perfect fit every time, then hand finished and sanded by the Cabinet Maker leading your piece's assembly at our Thomastown workshop.
What's the lead time for this add-on? Every piece begins its life at our manufacturing headquarters in Thomastown, Melbourne, where Zuster's own cabinet makers and upholsterers hand-craft it from raw material through to final detailing. Because your piece is made to order rather than pulled from a warehouse, it's ready in just 6 to 8 weeks, in the Zuster timber finish and fabric of your choice, built to be lived with for decades rather than years. Custom sizing and configurations are available on request, so the piece is made to fit your space, not the other way around.
