Zuster x LUME House By Archer Interiors

We are very excited to share LUME House, a Zuster × Archer Interiors collaboration that came to life through creative trust, custom design and the joy of making something new.
Curated by Archer Interiors, the home brings together a selection of Zuster pieces from our Opal collection, alongside new designs developed exclusively for the project by Creative Director Wilhelmina.
When stylist Aimee Tarulli could not find exactly what she was looking for, she came to us with a brief instead. From there, the design process began. It became a genuinely fun and fast-moving collaboration, with ideas exchanged, refined and brought to life. The result was the Opal Bed, Maxima Mirror, Rosette Plinth and Tulip Wall Panelling, all first introduced at LUME House.

We are proud to design and manufacture in Melbourne, working closely with our skilled craftsmen. Each piece is made to reflect the personal style of the client and sit seamlessly within the home.
This is what drives us. Collaborating, designing, innovating, and enjoying the process along the way. Projects like LUME House show what Australian-made furniture can be when it is thoughtful, personal, and designed with intent.
Our process centres on material honesty, proportion and restraint. Light and space lead, with furniture designed to support the architecture rather than compete with it. In conversation with Archer Interiors stylist Aimee Tarulli, Zuster Design Director Wilhelmina McCarroll and Managing Director Fleur Sibbel reflect on the importance of designers, builders and makers working together to realise enduring spaces.
“The project reflects a commitment to environments that feel calm, resolved and quietly expressive. From the tactile street presence to light-filled interiors, every decision supports the way the home is lived in, entertaining, gathering and everyday family life.”
“Natural light, proportion and texture lead the interiors, while refined joinery, stone and thoughtful detailing bring warmth and restraint. Nothing feels rushed. Each element is given space to be seen and felt.”

Within Aimee’s interior direction for the primary bedroom suite, Tulip wall panelling designed by Wilhelmina was developed as an integrated architectural element. Rather than sitting on top of the space, the panelling was conceived to belong to it, quietly shaping the room.
Our design and manufacturing teams completed a full site measure from our Thomastown workshop through to installation, allowing the panelling to respond precisely to the architecture and surrounding joinery. The design was refined through detailed drawing, documentation and prototyping,
resolved millimetre by millimetre, with lighting carefully integrated into the panelling itself.
Finished in Pecan Oak to sit in harmony with the rest of the home, the panelling is complemented by the Opal Bed and Maxima Freestanding Mirror, creating a calm, cohesive space grounded in design integrity, craftsmanship and considered detail.
